Airbus A320s Under Scrutiny in Indonesia After AirAsia Report

An emergency safety inspection of 75 Airbus A329 aircrafts registered in the country was launched on Thursday after investigators concluded a defect in an A329 Indonesia AirAsia aircraft caused is fatal crash last year.
The Transport Ministry's directorate general of air transport will probe four airlines — Indonesia AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia Extra, Citilink and Batik Air.
"The planes are still allowed to be in operation unless we find repetitive trouble," Suprasetyo, air transport director general, said in a press conference on Thursday.
National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) said on Tuesday that repeated problems with the Airbus 320 rudder system was a major factor in AirAsia's fatal jet accident which killed all 162 people on-board in December last year.
